MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
FOR ACADEMIC COLLABORATION
 
BETWEEN
CENTER FOR GLOBAL PUBLIC OPINION OF CHINA
(hereinafter known as Party A)
AND
PROGRAM ON INTERNATIONAL POLICY ATTTITUDES
(hereinafter known as Party B)
 
 
With a mutual desire to promote academic collaboration and exchange betweenCENTER FOR GLOBAL PUBLIC OPINION OF CHINA and PROGRAM ON INTERNATIONAL POLICY ATTTITUDES, enter into this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on March 1, 2010.
 
The intended academic collaboration and exchange, based on the principals of equality and mutual benefits, should be developed within the framework of this memorandum:
 
I. The above-mentioned collaboration and exchange shall include the (but not limited to) following areas:
 
l        Exchange between both parties regarding research information on global public opinion based on media contents and global surveys on international policy issues
l        Permission from Party B to Party A to release Party B’s survey results and reports related with China on Party A’s website in both Chinese and/or English
l        Cooperation of research projects related with global public opinion on China
l        Organizing academic seminars related with global public opinion on China in both China and the U.S.
l        Co-sponsoring research reports, books related with global public opinion on China in Chinese and/or English
l        Exchange of faculty members from both parties
l        Others related with global public opinion on China upon discussions by both parties
    
II. Both parties will name an office coordinator responsible for the fulfillment of this MOU.
 
III. For carrying out the above collaboration and exchange, detailed agreements shall be made between both parties upon further discussions.
 
 
 
 
 
IV. This MOU is not intended to be a legally binding document. It is meant to describe the nature of and suggest the guidelines of such collaboration between the two parties. Nothing, therefore, shall diminish the full autonomy of collaboration institutions, nor will any constraints be imposed by either party upon the other in carrying out this MOU.
 
V. This MOU shall take effect from the date of signing. Whereas necessary, this MOU may be modified or amended by mutual agreement. This MOU may be terminated by either party giving sixty (60) days written notice to the other party.
 
VI. This MOU is signed in duplicate in Chinese and English languages on this March 1, 2010 (to be finalized).
